Although the snow was falling thick and heavy when I woke up this morning, by the afternoon the sun was shining brightly and it felt like maybe spring had finally defeated winter. Only time will tell if that's actually the case, but I'm feeling excited nonetheless. I even spotted that the snow hadn't killed off the snowdrops and crocuses growing on the grass verges near our house
Visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park
I'd like to get outside a lot more in the coming weeks and months; I feel like I've been cooped up in the house for months on end because the weather has just been too cold or too wet to consider walks in the park and trips to the farm. But, with a bit more sunshine hopefully on its way, I'd like to take Benjamin to some more places, especially now that he loves looking around and seeing new things. We've been meaning to go to Yorkshire Sculpture Park for years, and so we're pledging to actually doing it this Spring.
Celebrate our 3rd Wedding Anniversary
It's our 3rd wedding anniversary in May, and since it's been a pretty big year for us, I'd like to celebrate it in some way as the two of us. Although we're very lucky, and have a fair few date nights over the course of Benjamin's short life, it's easy to let them slide as it's such a faff and on this occasion, I don't want that to happen! I'd also really like to *finally* get our wedding photos printed and put into an album as a gift to each other. We have them all online, but I love looking through my grandparent's wedding albums and I'd love to recreate that feeling for any future grandchildren I may have!
Renovate the Bathroom
We're finally going to get around to our next stage of renovations in the Spring - starting with the bathroom. When we moved in it was functional but ugly, and as that was better than the non-functional but ugly rest of the house, it had to stay that way. After far too many baths staring at the gross tiling and the fake ceiling, which I'm sure is housing all sorts of wiring nightmares behind it, I am very pleased to finally be making plans to give it a makeover. Watch this space...
Go on a Mini Holiday
I've just got Benjamin's passport forms sent off, so we're hoping that we can pop on a little three or four night break as a family some time in the Spring. If it comes through in time, we'll be heading to Barcelona to visit some friends, but we want to avoid too hot weather (partly because I'm a wimp, and partly because the thought of trying to keep Ben cool in the heat just stresses me out, which is not the point of a holiday) so if time ticks along too much, we may head their in the autumn and go somewhere slightly cooler like Amsterdam or Berlin.
Cook Some Crumpets From Scratch
Both Paul and I are a little bit addicted to crumpets, so I'd really like to try making some from scratch. It's a fairly involved process, so I think it'll have to be a weekend job, but as with anything else I've been a bit daunted to try cooking, I'm sure the pay off will be worth it!
Eat our Fill at Leeds Indie Food #LIF18
On the subject of food, some of the events for Leeds Indie Food have just been announced and I'm really excited to fill my weekends with trips to the various street food events across the city so I can stuff my face and pretend I'm still cool, even though I have a baby. It's one of my favourite things about living in Leeds, and there are always so many great events - if you can get tickets to Chef: The Experience, definitely do - I went a couple of years ago and I still rave about it to anyone who will listen.
