May was a good month. I feel like I got a lot done. I blogged more than I have in years. I spent time with friends and family. And I ticked off a couple of my little goals. I still haven't made time to bake bread. I am a bad homemaker. But, I don't feel too bad, because I did make a tiramisu from scratch for the first time and baked a bunch of banana breads. So it's cool, no big deal. I still want to do that sometime, but June is going to be crazy busy. I don't have a free weekend until August. This summer is going to be so fun. So I'm shelving bread baking until I have a bit more spare time - I want to give it my all and really learn about it, and right now I'm not in a place to do that.
So here are my goals for super-busy, super-fun June:
Cleanse, Tone & Moisturise
I am not the worst at skincare. I am also not the best. I do some combination of the above every day. I go through fits and spurts of doing it properly - doing the three steps morning and night, but then I get lazy or something throws me off and I end up doing the bare minimum to keep my face clean. So my goal is to cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and evening for the whole of June. I've bought some fancy skincare products from the Body Shop, because mine were all starting to run out, which hopefully will inspire me to keep at it. It shouldn't be too hard, right?
Not all at once! I've been hitting around the 30k mark on my Runkeeper every month - that's about ten 3k runs, which isn't really good enough. I want to run the Abbey Dash 10k in November but there's no way I'm anywhere near that. Thankfully, I've got plenty of time and I need to start training for it now. So I want to clock up 45 kilometres running over the month of June. That could be nine 5k runs or fifteen 3k runs or somewhere in between. It can be done, I just need to lace up my shoes and go for it.
Be Present (i.e. phones off!)
Last month my goal was to unplug and I enjoyed it so much. I've got a lot on in June - shopping with my bridesmaids, my Dad's 50th birthday party, Blognix. I really want to really enjoy these things and my phone is a massive distraction. Whilst I have been better than ever at keeping it tucked in my bag, I want to be very conscious not to let it creep back out when I should be enjoying the company of my friends and family instead. I might even terrorise my friends with this rule as well - non-urgent communication is now banned on social occasions. I'll let you know how it goes...
What are your goals for June?
