Three Little Goals - May


April was a good month. I feel like I got a lot done, which appeases my need for productivity. I ran more than I have in years (which still isn't much, I'll admit - but it feels good!), I read a whole load of books and I even finished watching the final series of Breaking Bad. That has taken up a lot of my 2014, let me tell you.

I also made quite a lot of headway with two of my little goals. Whilst eating at the table was perhaps a bit of an idealistic notion of mine - when your living room isn't really big enough for the table, it's more of a hassle than a pleasure - the daily yoga was SO good. I didn't manage it every day but I got through over half of the videos and I really enjoyed them. It was so relaxing to start the day with a quiet moment and a bit of stretching. I am really glad to have started yoga, it's doing wonders for me, and it's something I definitely want to continue going forward into the rest of the year.

Sort out my Wardrobe

I think it might finally be time to dig out my summer clothes and start finding places for them in the wardrobe. This also feels like the time to do a bit of a spring clean. You know the drill, throw out old clothes that I'll never wear again, replace them with my favourite summer bits and pieces. Check everything fits. Fix buttons and threads that need fixing. I'm trying to be more intentional with my wardrobe, with my style, this year and keep it a bit more simple than before, so I'm going to be ruthless.

Bake Bread 

Every weekend in April was taken up with events and plans. I'm not complaining, of course, it was lovely to see all of our friends and enjoy some of the best bits of Leeds this month. However, it didn't leave me much time for bread baking - I want to do it properly and I need to give myself a few hours to really get stuck in. The first weekend in May, Paul is going away so I've got the house to myself. My intention is to set aside some time to really learn and enjoy the process - I'll let you know how it goes!


We're going to Bournemouth for a few days at the end of the month to celebrate a wedding. I've got my fingers crossed that it will be sunny and hot! It's the only real holiday that we're going on this year, and I want to try to unplug from the Internet for a few days so that I can really relax and enjoy it. I'll never be the kind of person that can stay offline all day, but my goal is to stay present and only Instagram when Martha does something particularly cute.
