I am completely head over heels in love with this ice cream print dress from Sugarhill Boutique. It's super easy to wear, the print is gorgeous and is perfect for pretty much every occasion. And so I decided to treat it, and me, to some ice cream!
On a stroll through Leeds city centre, we took a turning down a street that I'd never seen before. And it was full of all sorts of joy. I picked up a menu from Little Tokyo, which I've heard people rave about. Now I know where it is, and that they do sake steamed mussels, you cannot keep me away for long!
We also took a little trip to the haberdashery store, where I was like a little kid in a candy store. I love these walls of buttons - I used to collect buttons as a child and my mum would let me choose one whenever we went into town. It kept me happy, and was cheaper than Toys R Us! I took this picture to send to my mum :)
I also discovered (much later than everyone else it seems!) the adorable vintage-y shop Pop Boutique. Look at all those beautiful, eye popping prints! Plus, it was super reasonable, I almost picked up a floral summer dress for a fiver, although sadly it was a little small.
I did, however, buy this pair of neon pink sunglasses ready for when the summer finally makes it to the UK. Or, if that never happens, for when I go to Barcelona in September!
This shop is worth visiting if only for all the flyers stuck up everywhere advertising all sorts of things to do in Leeds. Most were music-festival-ly types, which isn't really my scene but we did spy an advert for a Speakeasy! Amazing. I can't make this one, but I'm all signed up for the mailing list - cocktails in a tea cup, 1920s music and sparkly dresses? I am so there.
All in all a pretty successful day, and all because we decided to take a different turning from usual. Metaphor for life, eh?
